After my extended COVID illness, I'm four wedding quilts behind!
My standard wedding quilt is the Picnic Patch Cutie Quilt. It's easy to piece, fun to quilt, and enthusiastically received.
I just finished wedding quilt number one:
I used scrappy neutral strips for the sashings, such as those found in my Low Volume / Neutral Cutie Pack
I quilted free-motion ribbon candy in the sashings, but if ribbon candy is not yet in your skill set, consider using a Ribbon Candy Stencil.
I quilted feathers in the blocks and borders. I recommend my Machine Quilted Feathers online course. Work through the ten lessons and Practice with a Purpose patterns and your feathers WILL improve!
I am in the middle of a ten-week free Feather Along. Check it out in my Debby Brown's Machine Quilting Studio Facebook Group or on YouTube. This Feather Along is a supplement to my online class. If you enjoy the Feather Along, purchase the Machine Quilted Feather online class for Practice with a Purpose Patterns and more complete instruction.
I quilted pumpkin seeds in the cornerstones using a ruler against the foot of my machine. To learn how to quilt this pattern and many other ruler quilting designs, join As the Bobbin Turns for members only videos.
I used Tutti Lamb thread in the needle and DecoBob Antique White in the bobbin. Lamb is one of my Top Ten Favorite Machine Quilting Threads available in Cones or Spools.
This quilt will soon wing its way to its new home. I'm already planning wedding quilt number TWO!
